An Ocean Once Mine.

I once thought you were meant for me. A decision I made long ago.

In the vast ocean of my life, you were the current.

Like gentle waves upon a shore, our conversations ebbed and flowed.

Each word is a ripple of laughter, a shiver.

As if the currents shifted,

our bond drifting away, like time.

Now adrift, swept by the tide.

The silence between us, a cavern so deep,

Leaves me lost in memories I struggle to keep.

Your absence speaks volumes, louder than words,

As I mourn you, who has walked out the door.

Thoughts wander back to moments shared,

I miss the way we’d banter, and the jokes we’d share,

So let the silence speak, let it scream and shout.

I’ve replayed your last call a million times or more,

But the words just fade, like waves on the shore.

So here’s to us, [cheers] and the memories we hold.

We are now, heavy and cold,

I’ll cherish the memories, each and every one,

And maybe one day, I’ll no longer miss you.

But until then, I’ll hold onto what once was,

finding solace in our current pause.

For even though our paths may now diverge,

In my heart, you’ll always hold a part, always being in your corner.

But it appears I wasn’t meant for you.
